Tom Davidson

Tom studied animation at the Joe Kubert School of Cartoon & Graphic Art. There he learned the art of hand-drawn cel animation and life drawing from moving models under the direction of Disney's "Duck Man" and Oscar winner Milt Neil, as well as independent animator Phil Kimmelman ("Schoolhouse Rock"). Ever since Tom has had an enduring love of animation that has been a chief artistic influence on his work. Tom has a special love of the background designs of Maurice Noble and the overall design aethestic seen in John Hubley's UPA films, notably "Rooty Toot Toot", "Unicorn In The Garden" and "The Tell Tale Heart," among others. When not working his day job as a fashion art director, Tom tells stories in sequence, on paper rather than film. He is the self-published writer/artist of two comic book series: "Circle City Tales", which depicts surreal Southern tales of the ordinary and bizarre, and "D-Tales", whose stories are lighter in tone. Tom is a member of Sketch Charlotte and can be seen at any number of comic book conventions around the East coast. His work can also be found at watchtomdraw.com
