Chase Cooper

Chase Cooper is a Digital Creatures Supervisor at Industrial Light & Magic in San Francisco, CA where he is currently supervising the creature development and simulations for Star Wars The Last Jedi. With a passion for digital art at a young age, he started out learning how to create digital graphics in the late 1990s. As a Nashville, TN native this eventually would lead him to the digital media program at ETSU. He has worked in the computer graphics industry over the last decade starting at ILM in 2008, and completing work on films such as Warcraft, TMNT Out of the Shadows, The Avengers, Rango, Star Trek Into Darkness, and Pacific Rim to name a few. He has been nominated for an Annie Award and has contributed to both Siggraph and Disgraph, Disney's annual technology conference. He enjoys spending his free time with his two sons and family.

Gregory Marlow

Gregory Marlow holds two degrees from East Tennessee State University, a Bachelor of Science, obtained in 2003, and a Master of Science, obtained in 2006. He also received a Certification in Advanced Character Animation from Animation Mentor in 2008. He has worked in the animation and video game industry for nearly eight years. He spent four and a half years at Firaxis Games (2K) in Baltimore, MD, working as a Character Animator and Artist for the Civilization V and XCOM franchises. Some of his published titles include Civilization V, Gods and Kings, Brave New World, XCOM: Enemy Unknown Slingshot DLC, XCOM: Enemy Within, Orion Dino Horde, and Bioshock Infinite. He has also worked on numerous edutainment games and applications. He is the author of two instructional ebooks for software in the Autodesk family, and he enjoys writing fiction when no one is looking. He loves to read, listen, watch, or experience a good story. Though Greg has several awards for his work, the award of which he is proudest is the marriage certificate he obtained in Las Vegas with his wife, Amanda Livingston.  Greg currently holds a lecturer position in the Department of Digital Media at East Tennessee State University where he is an integral part of the Animation Concentration.

Sam Shpigelman

For the last 20 years Sam Shpigelman has held a lecturer position at the School of Theatre Television and Film at San Diego State University where he teaches a variety of animation, compositing, visual effects, and film theory classes to students across multiple disciplines. Sam was a faculty and program advisor/developer for the Digital Arts Center at the University of California at San Diego Extension where he developed Casual Game Development and Mobile Application Development educational programs. Sam is a fellow faculty at the University California San Diego-Academic Connections. Additionally, Sam is a former senior 3D Arts faculty member at the Art Institute of California-San Diego where he taught a variety of classes that range from basic 3D animation, modeling, and texturing to advanced 3D visual effects and senior portfolio classes within Media Arts and Animation, and Game Art and Design degree programs. Sam holds a Master of Fine Arts degree in Computer Animation from the Miami International University of Art and Design and a Bachelor of Science degree in Game Art and Design from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh. Sam is an active CG artist with vast experience in various industries such as animation, game development, architectural and medical visualization, and product design and modeling. Sam’s passion lies in learning and applying the latest skills and knowledge to his professional work, exploring his artistic horizons, and sharing this passion with his students. Sam’s latest professional works include the development of a top down mobile survival/tower defense game “Angry Goats”; AR/VR applications for Scripps Institute of Oceanography; Visualizations of future crafts of warfare and defense for US NAVY (SPAWAR); VR prototype of a future museum building for Flying Leatherneck Museum MCAS Miramar; Interactive children’s book for HP to showcase their newest computer system “Sprout”; A graphical user interface for Qualcomm’s Snapdragon Android marketplace; Visual development and game design for MonsterZone casual game on iOS and Android mobile platforms; Automotive modeling, rigging, animation and high quality rendering/stereoscopic rendering for Lexus Automotive products; Opening animated graphic for the San Diego State University Film Festival; Product design and modeling for the next generation of cell phones from Qualcomm; Detailed visualization of the Great Egyptian Pyramid for an upcoming documentary; and for the City of San Diego an architectural visualization of the Crossings Project, which consisted of 24 residential and commercial buildings next to the Solana Beach Train Station. Sam brings over two decades of experience as a professional CG artist, educator, and manager.
